Seniors
must have access to transportation that allows them to move freely around their
communities. They need and deserve transportation options that preserve dignity,
maximize independence, and provide access to the full range of activities that
contribute to quality of life.
However, accessible transportation is one of the top problems facing King County
seniors. Many seniors have found a wonderful solution in Senior Services’
Transportation program.
Formed in 1975 to help meet the transportation needs of King County seniors and
their families, our Transportation program provides personalized, escorted, free
transportation throughout the county.
We offer a number of services to
meet diverse needs.
Volunteer
Transportation
Over 350 volunteer
drivers use their own vehicles to transport seniors to
medical and other essential appointments, offering not only
a ride, but a helping hand and moral support.
Senior Shuttles
Drivers use agency vans to transport seniors to hot
lunch programs, senior center activities, grocery shopping, and other local errands.
