Overview:
The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Senior Center
provides a wide range of activities and services
for seniors 50 and over. The center is an
affiliate of Senior Services, which is supported in part through
funds from United Way.
Hours of Operation:
Monday-Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Evening and weekend events do occur. Call
or see newsletter for time and events.
Dues and Fees:
Annual membership is $18.00 for singles and
$28.00 for couples. Scholarships are
available. Non members are always
welcome to participate at any time.
Newsletter:
Published six times a year-January, March,
May, July, September, and November.
Mailed to members as part of membership.
Available to all at the center or by calling
(206) 365-1536. Contains information
about all programs and events at the center.Can be viewed here
Services:
Classes and seminars, daily hot lunches,
social work services, health monitoring and
enhancement with a social worker, all types of
exercise classes, health clinics, foot care,
Senior Rights Assistance, support groups for
low vision, life transitions, diabetes, crafts,
financial information and assistance with
taxes, Medicaid, etc.
Special Events and Fundraisers:
Yearly Bazaar, Monthly Birthday Lunches, special
meals, parties, dances.
Transportation:
Bus Routes 314 and 315 stop in front of the center,
ACCESS, special transportation for medical
appointments, some carpooling may be
available.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Available on
a daily, weekly, monthly and occasional basis.
Much needed and many different opportunities
available with as much or as little involvement
as desired. PLEASE VOLUNTEER.
