Senior Rights Assistance (SRA) empowers persons of all ages to utilize their legal and consumer rights! Our services and materials are completely
free!
Senior Rights Assistance specialists provide individualized attention and are knowledgeable about many legal and consumer rights related topics, including: powers of attorney, estate planning and consumer issues.
King County Bar Association Debt and Bankruptcy Clinic
The Neighborhood Legal Clinics (NLC) program has 29 clinics utilizing over 600 volunteer attorneys and legal assistants. These volunteers provide King County residents with up to a half hour of one-on-one advice, consultation, information and referral free of charge. NLC attorneys may help a client determine if their problem is a legal one, suggest possible options, review legal documents and provide sources for referral. As a free community service, KCBA’s Debt and Bankruptcy clinics address a wide variety of legal questions on topics including debtor/creditor problems and bankruptcy issues.
Solid Ground’s Housing Counseling Services
Solid Ground's Housing Counseling services include Mortgage Default Counseling, Predatory Lending Prevention, Reverse Equity Mortgage Counseling, Landlord/Tenant Counseling. All of these services include information and assistance on rights and responsibilities under local and State eviction and foreclosure statutes. Assistance negotiating with landlords and lenders for households experiencing a housing crisis. Modest financial assistance to prevent housing loss for eligible households. Financial skills counseling and workshops, including Individual Development Accounts (IDAs) recruitment and case management. Reverse equity mortgage counseling for senior homeowners.
