Project Enhance

Accomplish your goals for healthy living

Your personal wellness goals are at the heart of Project Enhance’s award-winning, evidence-based programs for achieving healthy living.

Our success is based on a comprehensive knowledge of the factors that contribute to the health of older adults. In fact, Project Enhance was developed by University of Washington researchers and continues to benefit from research projects across the nation.

Each year, more than 4,500 older adults improve their mental, social, and physical well-being with the support of our expert teams:

EnhanceFitness

EnhanceFitness combines the three key components of fitness: strength training, flexibility, and cardiovascular conditioning. As an attendee in an EnhanceFitness class, expect regular fitness checks and a fun and active environment.

EnhanceWellness

EnhanceWellness partners you with a motivational counselor, social worker, and support group to help you accomplish the goals of your personalized health action plan.

Our network of King County sites makes it easy to take your first step toward a more healthy and fit life.

Evidence shows that participation in Project Enhance’s programs decreases the

  • risk of falls
  • length of hospital stays
  • need for psychoactive drugs
  • amount of depression

and increases your

  • upper and lower body strength
  • balance
  • ability to maintain your independence
