Caregiver Support and Resources offer assessment, referral, support, and counseling to caregivers of any age caring for an older relative. We also serve grandparents or other relatives caring for kin who are minor children.

Financial & Legal Programs

Our Information and Assistance Program is the gateway to all the services we offer and all those in the community (5,280 resources are listed in our database). It assists seniors and their family members to understand and navigate the service system maze, offering a level of help tailored to each individual.

Senior Rights Assistance Program (SRA) volunteers provide assistance with a variety of questions (consumer issues; landlord/tenant issues; end-of-life planning).

SHIBA (Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors) Program provides free, unbiased insurance information about private and government health programs to all-age individuals.

Food Assistance Programs

The Community Dining Program provides hot, balanced meals in senior centers or other group settings to meet nutritional and social needs. Although users are asked to consider a donation for meals, no fee is required.

Meals on Wheels provides frozen home-delivered meals and home-delivered groceries for seniors who are unable to prepare meals or leave their homes to shop.

Minor Home Repair

Minor Home Repair provides plumbing, electrical and carpentry repair; also installation of special aids for disabled homeowners.

Transportation

The Transportation Program provides personalized, escorted, and free (suggested donation) transportation for elders who need help getting to medical appointments, grocery stores, senior programs, with escort as needed.

Project Enhance is a fitness and wellness program that provides evidence-based accessible and low-cost fitness and wellness programs for seniors. Unlike most of Senior Services programs, this one is national, operating more than 400 sites in 2010.

Breast Cancer Screenings
The Breast Health Education Screening Project’s (BHESP) main goals are to increase awareness about breast cancer and improve access to mammogram screenings.
